The Animal Kingdom at Gallery Nucleus

This Saturday is the opening of the Animal Kingdom Art Exhibition. There’s a preview of my contribution at the top of the post, entitled ‘Ouroboros.’ Sorry I don’t have a better picture of it, my camera should be working again soon, I’ll grab a snapshot when the gallery opens. If you’re not doing anything and you’re in the SoCal Area, feel free to roll through and check out all the bomb ass artwork on display! There will be some big guns showing, so make sure to check it out!

PS I know it says you can get 15% off store items if you present this flier, but please don’t try to print out this tumblr post lol

Foootaction X ADIDAS

Second half of the project. These will be up in a Houston Store. Both pieces were poking a little fun at the conventions of classic and high art.

Once again thanks to AD Ricky Young!

Footaction X ADIDAS

This was so long it couldn’t fit (oh my) so I split it in two parts. Commission I did for Adidas Originals. This is the bite sized version, the original was a huuuuge 17 x 38.

Thanks to AD Ricky Young!

Every now an then you see an image and just think, “god dammit I wish I thought of that.” This guy was one of my professors back at Pratt! He painted All the Indiana Jones movies and Star Wars movies as maps, and drew the path of all the characters throughout the entire movie.

Check out his work and Supersonic Electronic if you don’t already.

This was also on Geekologie the other day. As they said, you’ll notice Drew didn’t paint either the Star Wars prequels or Crystal Skull. That’s because those movies are ass.

30 [INCONSECUTIVE] DAY DRAWING/ART CHALLENGE — 1. Yourself or your persona.

I’ve been following Sachin Teng’s mind-bendingly beautiful and clever installments from this challenge for a while now at sachinteng.tumblr.com. Seems fun, so here I go! There’s no way I’ll complete the list in thirty days though, hence the “inconsecutive” addition to the title. I’ll be happy if I get through it within a year.

Shout outs to Brian Konietzko! Who, if you don’t know, is one of the co-creators of Korra. If you can’t already tell from day nine of the 30, I’m a fan the show.

True story I once applied for a job to work on Korra haha In hindsight I’m not much of a concept artist, but I couldn’t resist.

Check out Brian on Tumblr here

The ‘30’ will be on hiatus for a bit, I’ve got a slew of work to get through. In the mean time I’ll post up some other stuff to keep this blog from getting dusty!

30 DAY CHALLENGE // DAY TWENTY ONE // SOMETHING YOU DON’T LIKE

Why is there a rupee inside of grass? Why is there 500 gil and a +5 fire damage sword inside a random monster?

Something everyone who plays video games implicitly goes along with. I was playing Borderlands 2 with my gf, and a Hyperion robot dropped an alternate hairstyle for my character, and couldn’t help think he wears a beard and pretends to be human when no one’s looking
